The silTEX® 1608.VC2 welding protective blanket is made from high-quality SiO2 silicate glass yarns and is characterized as a light, high-temperature protective blanket for extreme application temperatures of up to 1600 °C. The protective blankets of the silTEX® series are used where highly demanding temperature conditions prevail. The vermiculite coating on both sides provides additional protection for the material and increases the mechanical load limit. Equally suitable for vertical and horizontal applications, this high-temperature resistant welding blanket resists weld spatter, sparks, flames and molten metal spatter up to 1600°C. These blankets are available in a variety of standard and custom sizes, and can also be purchased in convenient rolls.
