Flexible Textile Sleeves for Insulation & Thermal Protection
High-temperature textile sleeves are hollow-braided textile products designed for the thermal insulation and jacketing of pipes, lines and other elongated components.
Fingerhuth offers textile sleeves made from E-glass fiber, HR glass fiber, silica fiber, AES fiber and ceramic fiber, providing a range of material systems for thermally demanding industrial applications.
With internal diameters from 8 to 100 mm, the standard range covers a variety of pipe and line diameters. Material, diameter and sleeve construction are selected according to temperature, component geometry and actual installation conditions.
High-Temperature Textile Sleeve Materials for Different Temperature Ranges
The fiber material determines the fundamental temperature range and key characteristics of the textile sleeve. Five material groups are available for different temperature ranges and industrial applications.
Proven base material for textile insulation and protection applications at moderate operating temperatures.
Higher-temperature glass fiber grade for demanding thermal applications beyond the typical operating range of conventional E-glass.
High-SiO₂ fiber material for demanding insulation and protection applications at high temperatures.
High-temperature fiber with increased biosolubility and reduced biopersistence for demanding insulation and protection applications.
High-temperature fiber for particularly demanding thermal loads and specialized industrial insulation applications.
High-Temperature Textile Sleeves at a Glance
The product range includes hollow-braided textile sleeves for different thermal requirements. Depending on the fiber material, standard internal diameters from 8 to 100 mm are available for industrial insulation and thermal protection applications.
| Fiber Material | Construction | Temperature | Internal Diameter |
|---|---|---|---|
| E-Glass Fiber | Glass fiber textile sleeve, hollow-braided | up to 550 °C | Ø 8–100 mm |
| HR Glass Fiber | Glass fiber textile sleeve, hollow-braided | up to 750 °C | Ø 8–100 mm |
| Silica Fiber | Silica fiber textile sleeve, hollow-braided | up to 1000 °C | Ø 8–100 mm |
| AES Fiber | AES fiber textile sleeve, hollow-braided, glass- or metal-reinforced | up to 1050 °C | Ø 8–100 mm |
| Ceramic Fiber | Ceramic fiber textile sleeve, hollow-braided, glass- or metal-reinforced | up to 1260 °C | Ø 8–100 mm |
Additional options: Depending on the sleeve grade, glass or metal reinforcements, impregnations, coatings and project-specific designs may be available.
Technical note: The stated temperatures refer to the respective material or sleeve design. Reinforcements, impregnations and coatings may have different temperature limits. Suitability must therefore be evaluated for the specific application and operating conditions.
