Custom Industrial Insulation Systems & Heat Protection
Textile Insulation Systems for Heat, High Temperatures & Demanding Industrial Applications
Fingerhuth develops and manufactures custom textile insulation systems and heat protection solutions for machinery, industrial equipment, piping, valves and thermally exposed production areas. Our solutions are designed to reduce heat loss, protect adjacent components and working areas and provide a technical design matched to the requirements of the individual application.
Depending on the application, systems can be manufactured from glass fibre fabrics, high-temperature fabrics, silica materials, thermal insulation materials and functional coatings. Material construction, insulation thickness, geometry, fastening systems and attachment methods are selected according to temperature, environmental conditions, mechanical loads and the required protective function.
The result is not a universal standard product, but custom-engineered industrial insulation – from one-off components and prototypes to reproducible series production for industrial machinery and equipment.
Industrial Thermal Insulation & Heat Protection for Machinery and Equipment
Different thermal challenges require different technical solutions. Our portfolio includes removable insulation jackets and covers, textile pipe and hose insulation, fabric expansion joints, industrial heat protection curtains and custom-made heat protection sleeves.
Every product range can be engineered and manufactured according to component geometry, operating temperature, installation conditions and the specific technical requirements of the application.
Which insulation system is right for your application?
The technical design of an insulation system cannot be determined by maximum temperature alone. Important factors include operating and surface temperature, radiant heat, component geometry, environmental conditions, mechanical loads, maintenance requirements and the required protective function. We support you in selecting the appropriate material construction and technical design for your application.
Find the Right Insulation Solution for Your Application
We support you in selecting and engineering removable insulation jackets, pipe and hose insulation, fabric expansion joints, heat protection curtains and custom-made heat protection sleeves – matched to temperature, component geometry, installation conditions and the required protective function.

Frequently Asked Questions About Industrial Insulation Systems
The design of an industrial insulation system depends on the specific application. In addition to temperature, important factors include heat transfer, component geometry, environmental conditions, maintenance access and mechanical loads.
Fingerhuth manufactures removable insulation jackets and covers, textile pipe and hose insulation, fabric expansion joints, custom heat protection curtains and heat protection sleeves. Each system is engineered according to the requirements of the respective industrial application.
A removable insulation jacket is a flexible, custom-fabricated thermal insulation system for components such as valves, flanges, piping and machinery. Unlike permanently installed insulation, it can be opened and removed for maintenance or inspection and subsequently reinstalled.
Textile pipe insulation can be manufactured for straight pipe sections, 45° and 90° elbows, tees, reducers, flanges, valves and other custom piping geometries. Flexible hoses can also be insulated, depending on the application and the required degree of movement.
Textile insulation systems can be adapted to complex geometries and, depending on their construction, can be designed to be removable and reusable. They are particularly suitable for components where thermal insulation and regular maintenance access need to be combined.
The permissible temperature range depends on the material construction and the type of thermal exposure. Depending on the application, materials are available for industrial high-temperature applications up to approximately 1200 °C. Contact temperature, ambient temperature and radiant heat as well as the duration and intensity of exposure must be considered separately during technical design.
Yes. A significant proportion of our insulation systems are custom-manufactured from drawings, samples, measurements or technical specifications. Geometry, materials, insulation construction, closures, cut-outs and fastening points can be individually defined.
Yes. Existing textile insulation components can be used as the basis for replacement or remanufacturing. Geometry, material construction and design details are assessed and can be reproduced according to the technical requirements or modified where necessary.
Thermal insulation primarily focuses on reducing heat transfer and surface temperature. Heat protection can instead focus on shielding a component or working area from radiant heat or other forms of thermal exposure. In industrial applications, both functions can also be combined within the same technical solution.
Particularly useful information includes component type and dimensions, operating and ambient temperature, type of thermal exposure, installation conditions, required protective function and quantity. Drawings, photographs or existing samples can additionally support the technical assessment.
