Flexible Protective Curtains for Welding, Cutting & Hot Work

Fingerhuth welding curtains provide flexible separation and shielding of welding workstations, machinery, production areas and adjacent work zones. They protect against flying sparks, welding spatter, hot particles and radiant heat and – depending on the selected material grade – can also withstand high thermal loads and molten metal splashes.

Temperature resistance alone is not sufficient when selecting the appropriate welding curtain. Equally important are spatter exposure, mechanical stress, curtain size, attachment method, mobility and installation conditions. We therefore offer different material systems based on fiberglass fabric, wire-reinforced fiberglass fabric and high-temperature-resistant SiO₂ silica fabric.

All curtains can be tailored to the specific application and manufactured with custom dimensions, hems, eyelets and matching curtain track and mounting systems.

SCHWEISSVORHANG-SYSTEM · ONLINE KONFIGURIEREN

Configure Your Welding Curtain with Track & Mounting System

Configure your welding curtain or spark protection curtain to match your work area. In addition to material grade, dimensions, edge finishing and eyelets, you can also include curtain tracks and matching mounting components directly in the configuration.

This gives you the curtain, fabrication and suspension as one technically coordinated welding curtain system from a single source.

WELDING CURTAINS · PRODUCT SELECTION

Welding Curtains for Different Temperature & Load Ranges

Our range includes welding, spark, spatter and heat protection curtains for industrial applications. The individual material grades differ in terms of temperature resistance, area weight, material construction, surface finish and mechanical strength. This allows the curtain to be selected specifically for the process and the planned installation conditions.

SCHWEISSVORHÄNGE · HIGH TEMPERATURE

High-Temperature Welding Curtains for Demanding Industrial Applications

High-temperature welding curtains for increased thermal and mechanical loads. Different fabric weights, finishes and reinforcements allow selection between lightweight basic designs, dedicated spatter protection and heavy-duty solutions.

Not sure which welding curtain is right for your application?

Temperature alone is not the only selection criterion. Spatter exposure, mechanical stress, curtain size, mobility, installation conditions and the mounting system can all have a decisive influence on the appropriate material grade. We will be pleased to support you with the technical selection.

SELECTION GUIDE · WELDING CURTAINS

Which Welding Curtain Is Right for Your Application?

The appropriate curtain grade is not selected solely on the basis of maximum temperature resistance. Equally important are the type and intensity of thermal exposure, sparks and welding spatter, mechanical stress, curtain size, mobility and the specific installation conditions.

The following criteria provide a practical technical guide for selecting the appropriate material and curtain design.

01 THERMAL EXPOSURE

Temperature Range

The temperature resistance must match the actual thermal exposure. A distinction must be made between continuous temperature, short-term peak exposure, radiant heat and direct thermal exposure.

02 WELDING PROCESS

Sparks & Welding Spatter

Light flying sparks place different demands on a protective curtain than intensive welding spatter or hot slag. The type, quantity and energy of the particles influence the required material construction.

03 HIGH SPATTER EXPOSURE

Molten Metal Splashes

Welding, cutting and hot-work operations involving intense spatter may require heavy fabrics with dedicated surface treatments. In particular, molten metal splashes place significantly higher demands on the material than ordinary flying sparks.

04 MECHANICAL LOAD

Mechanical Stress

If the curtain is frequently opened, moved or otherwise subjected to mechanical stress, area weight, fabric construction, wire reinforcement and tear resistance become important selection criteria.

05 CURTAIN SYSTEM

Movable or Fixed Installation

Fixed curtains and movable curtain systems place different demands on fabrication and material. For sliding systems, eyelets, rollers, curtain tracks and repeated movement must be considered together.

06 INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENT

Dimensions & Installation Conditions

Curtain height, width, overlaps, fixing points and available installation space influence the technical design. Wall or ceiling mounting, division into multiple segments and the required opening travel should also be considered at an early stage.

APPLICATIONS · WELDING CURTAINS

Welding Curtains for a Wide Range of Industrial Protection Tasks

Welding curtains are used wherever thermally exposed work areas need to be shielded or separated from surrounding zones. They create flexible barriers between welding, cutting or hot-work stations and adjacent machinery, production lines, traffic routes or work areas.

Depending on the process, requirements vary in terms of temperature resistance, fabric weight, surface finish, mechanical strength and the design of the curtain system.

01 WELDING PROTECTION

Welding Workstations

Flexible shielding of welding workstations to protect adjacent areas from flying sparks, welding spatter and thermal exposure. Suitable for individual workstations as well as larger production and assembly areas.

02 PRODUCTION AREAS

Machine & Equipment Shielding

Protection of sensitive machinery, equipment components, electronics and production areas against hot particles, sparks and heat when thermal work is carried out in the immediate vicinity.

03 SPATTER PROTECTION

Cutting & Flame-Cutting Operations

Area shielding for thermally intensive cutting and flame-cutting processes involving hot particles, slag and molten metal splashes. Depending on the exposure, specially finished spatter protection curtains are used.

04 INDUSTRIAL HOT WORK

Hot Work & Maintenance

Temporary or permanently installed protective separation during maintenance, repair and assembly work when welding, cutting or other thermal processes are carried out within existing facilities.

05 HEAT PROTECTION

Protection Against Radiant Heat

Shielding of temperature-sensitive work areas, components and equipment against intense radiant heat. Reflective material surfaces can additionally reduce incoming radiant heat.

06 FLEXIBLE AREA SEPARATION

Movable & Flexible Protective Partitions

In combination with suitable curtain tracks, welding curtains can be designed as movable and flexibly positionable protective partitions. This allows work areas to be opened, closed or reconfigured as required.
