The KFZ.1460 automotive welding blanket has been specifically developed for welding, grinding, repair and maintenance work on vehicles. Unlike conventional welding blankets made from glass fabric, it consists of a fibreglass-free Preox needle felt, making it particularly suitable for applications where sensitive paint surfaces, body panels and vehicle interiors need to be protected.
The mechanically bonded needle felt made from pre-oxidised PAN fibres has a material thickness of approx. 6.0 mm, providing a high level of thermal insulation. At the same time, at only approx. 600 g/m², the KFZ.1460 is exceptionally lightweight, soft and flexible. The welding blanket does not release glass fibre dust and is therefore particularly paint-friendly and skin-friendly.
With temperature resistance of up to 1,400 °C, the KFZ.1460 is suitable for protection against sparks, weld spatter, flames and high thermal exposure. Typical applications include vehicle body construction, vehicle repair, workshops, automotive production, as well as maintenance and repair work on vehicles and sensitive components.

KFZ.1460 as Roll Goods and Fabricated Automotive Welding Blankets
The KFZ.1460 is available both as roll goods for individual further processing and in numerous fabricated standard sizes. Thanks to its low fabric weight and soft, flexible material structure, the welding blanket can be easily adapted to vehicle contours, body panels and sensitive surfaces. For project-specific requirements, custom dimensions can also be manufactured.
