Material:

Silicate glass fiber (SiO2)

Operating temperature:

up to 1100 °C

Thickness:

3 to 25 mm

The isoFLEX® 1100/NA fiberglass mats are made of high-temperature-resistant silicate glass fiber (SiO2), which is purely mechanically bonded. These mats are produced without chemical binders, with a filament diameter of 6 to 13 μm and a cut length of 30 to 100 mm. They can be used at temperatures up to 1100 °C without losing their properties or melting. Typical applications for silicate glass fiber needle mats include the automotive industry, metallurgy, shipbuilding, as well as the electrical and chemical industries. Due to their non-flammability, they are suitable for extremely high temperatures and achieve outstanding insulation values. IsoFLEX® 1100/NA silicate glass fiber mats are certified according to the MED Directive 2014/90/EU and can be used in shipbuilding.

Application Examples

Due to their excellent insulation properties and non-flammability, isoFLEX® 1100/NA needle mats are used as a thermal insulator at temperatures of up to 1100 °C. As thermal and sound insulation material, needle mats are primarily applied in the following areas:

  • Construction (thermal insulation work)
  • Vehicle manufacturing (engine compartments, floors)
  • Shipbuilding (walls, ceilings, insulation of pipes)
  • Railcar construction (insulation of pipes)
  • Power plants (insulation of turbines)
  • Manufacture of household appliances (thermal insulation)
