Compact battery cabinet for professional lithium-ion battery pools
Lithium-ion batteries are now used every day in workshops, service departments, e-bike businesses, technical services and many other professional applications. Where several batteries are charged regularly, open charging points, scattered chargers and poorly organised storage areas can quickly become the norm.
The LOXXER LOXK1100 creates a defined and monitored storage and charging area. At just 760 mm wide and 585 mm deep, the battery cabinet has a comparatively compact footprint and is particularly suitable for operations with limited floor space and a manageable battery pool.
Two adjustable fire-resistant shelves divide the interior into three separate compartments. Each shelf is rated for loads of up to 70 kg. The electrical supply is 230 V / 16 A.
Capacity alone, however, is not what defines the system. The LOXK1100 combines a fire-resistant steel construction, smoke and temperature detection, audiovisual alarms, active ventilation and a self-closing door in a monitored safety system for lithium-ion batteries.
The LOXK1100 is certified to VDMA 24994 and is intended for the stationary indoor storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries.

For a lithium-ion battery cabinet, the materials used for individual components are only part of the equation. In an incident, the complete cabinet must function as an integrated system and withstand the specific thermal and mechanical stresses associated with a battery event.
The LOXK1100 is therefore certified to VDMA 24994. The test evaluates the battery cabinet under the specific conditions relevant to the storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries.
The safety concept includes a fire-resistant steel construction, smoke and temperature detection, audiovisual alarms, a self-closing door and active ventilation.
For operators, certification provides a documented technical basis for selecting a battery cabinet and can be relevant to risk assessment, fire safety concepts and coordination with responsible authorities or insurers.
EARLY DETECTION · SMOKE · TEMPERATURE
Detect critical conditions as early as possible – before a battery event escalates
A critical condition in a lithium-ion battery does not necessarily begin with visible flames. Unusual temperature rises, smoke or reaction gases may occur beforehand.
The LOXK1100 therefore monitors the cabinet interior using smoke and temperature detection. These two monitoring parameters complement one another and support early identification of abnormal conditions.
If a corresponding event is detected, the cabinet activates its audiovisual alarm. The integrated RGB LED also provides a visual status indication.
This allows personnel to react at an early stage, secure the area and initiate the measures defined in the site-specific emergency and fire safety concept.
DOOR CONTACT · ALARM · SYSTEM INTEGRATION
Self-closing door and provision for connection to a fire alarm control system
The single door of the LOXK1100 is self-closing, lockable and equipped with a door contact. This means that maintaining the defined operating condition of the battery cabinet does not depend solely on the door being closed manually.
For integration into wider operational safety concepts, the LOXK1100 is also prepared for connection to an external fire alarm control system.
Depending on the existing fire alarm system and the selected configuration, signals from the integrated smoke and temperature detection can therefore be incorporated into higher-level alarm and building safety systems.
This type of system integration can provide significant additional value in larger workshops, industrial buildings or unattended technical areas.
ACTIVE VENTILATION · CONTROLLED AIRFLOW
Active ventilation supports controlled charging operation
When several chargers are operating simultaneously, heat is generated inside a battery cabinet. A suitable charging infrastructure must therefore also take the normal thermal operating condition into account.
The LOXK1100 features active ventilation to support air exchange within the cabinet and help prevent unnecessary heat build-up during normal charging operation.
The system also provides a connection for an external exhaust-air system. This allows the airflow concept to be adapted to the installation location and building conditions.
The exhaust-air arrangement should always be assessed together with the installation location, electrical connected load and the existing operational safety concept.

OPTION · ADDITIONAL SAFETY LAYER
Optional aerosol fire suppression system for the LOXK1100
In addition to the standard detection and alarm functions, the LOXK1100 can optionally be equipped with a certified aerosol fire suppression system.
The system provides an additional safety layer inside the battery cabinet and can be activated automatically when a fire event is detected.
This option can be a useful part of the overall safety concept, particularly at sites without an automatic sprinkler system or where additional operational safety measures are required.
It is important to understand its function correctly: a thermal runaway already taking place inside a lithium-ion cell cannot simply be stopped by a conventional extinguishing process. The aerosol system therefore provides an additional fire suppression and containment function within the cabinet.
