Preox-Aramid Fabric
Preox-Aramid blend fabric is an innovative material that combines the advantages of two high-performance fibers: pre-oxidized polyacrylonitrile (Preox) and para-aramid. These blends are available in different compositions, such as 70/30 (70% Preox and 30% para-aramid) or 50/50 (50% Preox and 50% para-aramid), and offer an excellent combination of thermal stability, mechanical strength, and flame retardancy. By merging the properties of both materials, an extremely durable, lightweight, and heat-resistant fabric is created, suitable for various demanding applications.
The combination of Preox and para-aramid in these blends results in a material that offers both excellent heat-resistant properties and high strength and abrasion resistance. The blend allows for flexible adaptation to different application areas, with the 70/30 composition providing higher heat and flame resistance, while the 50/50 blend offers enhanced mechanical strength.

Technical Characteristics
- Can withstand temperatures up to 400 °C without losing its structural properties.
- Thanks to the para-aramid content, the fabric remains extremely robust even under mechanical stress. The para-aramid content ensures high abrasion resistance, making the material durable even under intensive use.
- Despite its high strength, the fabric remains lightweight and flexible, making it ideal for protective clothing and other wearable applications.
- Preox-aramid fabrics have a high LOI (Limiting Oxygen Index) value of over 30%. This high LOI value makes preox-aramid fabrics ideal for applications where a high level of fire protection and thermal safety is required, such as in protective clothing.
- Despite its high strength, the fabric remains lightweight and flexible, making it particularly suitable for use in protective clothing and wearable applications.
- Resistant to a variety of chemicals, solvents, and oils, making the material ideal for harsh environments.
Application Examples
- Protective clothing: Preox-aramid is used in high-risk areas such as firefighting, metalworking, and welding applications due to its flame-retardant and heat-resistant properties. The 70/30 blend offers particularly strong heat protection, while the 50/50 blend provides a balanced combination of heat resistance and abrasion resistance.
- Heat-resistant padding and textiles: In areas such as transportation (airplanes, trains, ships) and aviation, the material is used to manufacture fire-retardant padding, covers, and insulation materials.
- Welding curtains and protective blankets: Preox-aramid fabrics are ideal for welding and cutting operations, as they serve as a barrier against sparks and heat while also offering high abrasion resistance.
