Fire Containment Cover for Pallets and Wire Mesh Boxes: preventive fire protection for storage and logistics

Fire Containment Covers for Pallets and Wire Mesh Boxes

Fire Containment Covers for Pallets and Wire Mesh Boxes

Our fire protection hoods are designed for preventive fire protection in the storage and logistics of flammable media, as well as for the protection of valuable goods. The fire protection hoods are custom-made and can be easily applied to pallets, grid boxes, or barrels.

The highly durable material made of HR glass fabric with a special FR silicone coating withstands extreme temperatures and is flame-resistant. They provide reliable protection against flame exposure from both outside and inside. The material is flexible, mechanically strong, can be cleaned, and is resistant to a variety of chemicals and oils.

Pallets can still be transported even with the fire protection hood on. In the event of a fire, the burning pallet can be safely removed from the danger zone after a hazard assessment and transported to a secure location for extinguishing or controlled burning.

Technical Characteristics

  • Extremely high temperature resistance: Our fire protection covers for pallets and mesh containers are designed for continuous exposure up to 1000 °C and short-term peak temperatures up to 1200 °C – ideal for industrial high-temperature environments.
  • Maximum flame delay: The cover acts as an insulating barrier that significantly slows down the spread of flames, heat, and pyrolysis gases – a critical safety factor in case of fire incidents.
  • Reliable protection against sparks, welding spatter, and open flames: Perfect for storage areas adjacent to welding or cutting zones – effectively prevents thermal transfer to palletized goods or container contents.
  • Insurance advantage & audit compliance: As a passive fire protection measure, the fire cover for pallets and mesh boxes meets typical audit and safety requirements and can help reduce insurance premiums.
  • Durable, long-lasting, and reusable: High tear strength, abrasion resistance, and dimensional stability allow for hundreds of usage cycles. This makes Fingerhuth fire protection covers a cost-effective and sustainable solution.
  • Resistant to weather and chemicals: UV-resistant, moisture-repellent, and highly resistant to oils, acids, and standard industrial chemicals – suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Application Examples

  • Storage of flammable or sensitive goods: In high-risk storage areas, the cover protects palletized goods from flame exposure, radiant heat, and sparks. Suitable for short- and long-term storage, e.g. in hazardous goods depots, finished goods warehouses, or high-bay racking systems.
  • Safe transport of high-value or sensitive materials: Whether for internal handling or during loading, the fire protection cover for mesh containers and pallets minimizes the risk of heat-related damage during transport of sensitive or valuable goods.
  • Heat protection near thermal processing zones: When storing or transporting goods near welding stations, ovens, or hot presses, the cover provides effective thermal shielding and fire protection – safeguarding cargo from uncontrolled heat sources.
  • Temporary protection of storage areas on construction sites or outdoors: With excellent weather resistance, UV protection, and thermal stability, the cover is the ideal fire protection solution for mobile storage areas, such as construction sites, temporary shelters, or outdoor logistics hubs.
  • Compliance with fire protection regulations in logistics centers: The use of fire protection covers for pallets and mesh containers supports the fulfillment of legal fire safety requirements – such as TRGS 510 or internal audit standards – and may contribute to lower insurance premiums.
