E-glass fabrics with a silicone coating have developed into an industrial standard product and are available in many variations with diverse properties. The following properties such as good UV stability, weather resistance, cut resistance, water resistance, ability to freeze (up to -50°C), flame resistance and resistance to oil penetration and various chemicals and alkalis bring many advantages for thermal insulation systems and fabric expansion joints. Additional additives can be added to the silicone compound to provide further improved properties to the polymer, such as antistatic or conductive surface finishes, acidic or alkaline indicator pigments, and thermal expansion.
